What this website collects, who it goes to, and what it deliberately does not do.

The short version
- There are no analytics, no advertising trackers and no tracking cookies on this site. We do not build a profile of you and we do not sell anything about you.
- The only personal information we receive is what you type into the contact form and send us.
- The weather card guesses your region from your browser's time zone setting, which is read on your own device. Nothing about your location is sent anywhere unless you press "Use exact location" and grant permission.

Green Concerns is a sustainability consultancy based in Norwich, United Kingdom. For anything in this policy, contact us at info@greenconcerns.net.
We are the data controller for the information described here — meaning we decide why it is collected and what happens to it.
What we collect, and when
When you use the contact form. We receive the name, email address and message you enter. We ask for these because we cannot answer an enquiry without a way to reply and something to reply about. The lawful basis is legitimate interest: you contacted us and are expecting a response.
When you simply read a page. Our host records the request in its server logs, including your IP address and browser — this is how every website works, and it cannot be switched off without switching off the website. We do not read these logs to identify anyone.
Your approximate location. The weather card on the homepage shows conditions where you are. It works out "where" from the time zone your device is already set to, read locally in your browser. That tells us your region — not your city, street or IP-derived position — and it is never transmitted. If you press "Use exact location", your browser asks your permission, and only if you grant it are your coordinates used to fetch the weather. They are not stored and are forgotten when you close the tab.
What we deliberately do not do
This site has no Google Analytics, no advertising or social pixels, no session recording, no A/B testing tools, no embedded video, no hosted map and no chat widget. Fonts are served from this domain rather than a font CDN. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
Who else receives data
We use three services to run the site. Each is listed with exactly what it receives.
EmailJS
United States- Receives
- Your name, email address and message

- It delivers the form to our inbox. Without it the form cannot send.
Open-Meteo
Germany- Receives
- The coordinates being looked up, and your IP address (as with any web request)

- It returns the current conditions shown on the cards. No account or API key is involved.
Vercel
United States- Receives
- Your IP address and browser, in standard server logs
- When
- Every page request
- Why
- It hosts the site. Serving a page requires receiving the request.
Two of these are in the United States, so contact-form messages and server logs leave the UK. Transfers rely on the providers' standard contractual clauses and UK/EU adequacy arrangements.
Cookies and browser storage
We set no cookies. Two small values are stored in your own browser and are never sent to us or anyone else.

Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to us holding it at all. Email info@greenconcerns.net and we will respond within one month. In practice, what we hold is the email you sent us.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If we add a service that collects or transmits anything, we will update this page and change the date at the top before that service goes live.
